
Evaporated milk is quite simple to make at home. All it is, is milk with 60% of it's water evaporated away. Therefore, if you need evaporated milk, simply reconstitute powdered milk with about 40% of the recommended water. No recipe required :)
BUT - for your average recipe, it asks for either a 5oz can or 12oz can. The proportions I use are as follows:
1 1/3 cups water
1 cup powdered milk
This is approx. equivalent to a 12oz can.
